Okay, so I have been working on developing my blogger blog as well... for the most part, starting tomorrow, I will be posting similar things on each...but I want to get as much exposure as possible... so two listings are better than one right???
Anyhow, as I have been slacking on here, here is something new I have been working on:
This is the new Fresh Cuts stamp set and laser cut notes that are all the rage, as they are a sneak peek at what's to come in the new catalogue. I must admit I cased this card off of Patty Bennett's Blog . I also am making this into a workshop. For of these card in assorted colors, with a matching notecard box!
Well this week has been a gong show... very busy and really, I haven't been around home all that much. But as promised, I did manage to get all my cards posted up from the Masculine Class!! I also started working on some cards for a workshop this Sunday. Originally no one could come, and then there was one, and now possibly three. So something I had no cards made for, suddenly turned into a big deal. But I am thankful that I am able to "recycle" some of the cards from my last workshop. None of the people coming this week were there, and there are 2 cards that will work, since that was their first showing lol.
"Recycling" the card ideas has been great for me. I am lucky that since I'm just starting out, my stamping group is still very small, that I can keep track of who's come to what workshop!! While it's a great time and money saver... I can't say that I wouldn't like it if my group grew a little bit.
Anyhow, I did manage to cut the supplies for the two cards, and then created a NEW one!!! YAY ME!! As well, this card used the Color Challenge from SCS from last week that I was so interested in: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. *Will post as soon as I am home tonight*
Paper: Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark
Stamp Set: Spring Solitude
Accessories: Silver Brads, Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
Okay so I have been bad. So Sorry!!! Last week was really busy and this weekend was busy as well. However, not to worry, I was not completely lazy, and I did manage to get some stamping in. It wasn't at my house, albeit, but I did stop by Tamye's place for her " Many Masculine Masterpieces" class. However, while the cards are ( for the most part) masculine, I'm not really a fan. We used the Boho sets and I'm just not keen on them. However, I did manage to make enough cards to satisfy all the male ones I will need this month : Martin's birthday is on Wednesday, Father's Day is the 15th, and I needed one for both Cory and my dad, as well my dad's b-day is in a month.
Also, as well as the 6 cards, we made a 3clip clipboard. I should say we could make, as I took all my supplies home and will work on it later this week. I also need to work on at least 5 cards for this weekend. I only have Christine currently coming, but I can re-create the same cards later in the month.
I am also expecting 2 packages this week from Stampin' Up! I ordered the Fesh Cut Blooms set, and notecards with matching 5 petal punch. As well, as the special eScape bundle they have on for the month!!
I promise to post my Masculine cards tonight, and I will also work on my clipboard and post that later this week!
Okay, so I have to admit I didn't get any Stamping done last night. But that's not to say I was not productive, as I was. First off, I got my microwave sold!! We have one built in at the new place, so we had my old one just sitting in the storage room, collecting dust. I had it posted for $50.00 and I am sure I paid somewhere around $100.00, but I was prepared for a loss, just wanted something. She paid $40.00, I was not in the mood to bargain, so I let it go. Anyhow, pays for stamping supplies lol.
Then I went up to my Stamp loft to get some stuff done. However, this weekend when I was at the Dollarama, I had bought a package of 4 x 6 photo paper to see the quality, and decided to try it out. I was really impressed!! Considering our printer is brand new, but nothing fancy, and dollar-store paper! Pictures were turning out great. So I went nuts, and had to ask Cory to stop at the store on the way home and bring me a couple more. A while back, I had purchased two of these cute little Christmas scrap albums that came with all the supplies for 12 pages. So I worked on that and finished one. I also finished these little Shadow boxes I had bought for the kittens - one each. I just need to get them hung up now.
And since I was in the scrapping zone. I found these little Creative Memories mini Paper-Albums that I had bought and did up one for our Trip to Banff/ Canmore a couple weekends ago. They are pretty basic, and completed ONLY using the items in each album, but I had a good time, and really like how they turned out. I finished everything at 12:30am and was super exhausted so didn't have time to get them on here, but I will load them tonight, and hopefully also a card! The one that uses the Color Challenge.
So I have been toying with finally trying a SCS challenge for quite some time... but I think I have been a little scared. Both of not having enough supplies to be able to do the challenges, as well as not being experienced enough to do something that would be NICE enough.
But I got today's weekly inkling and just happened to peek at the weekly challenge and noticed that Tuesday's color challenge and I really want to participate: Sage Shadown, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip! How pretty would that be!! I have wanted to do a card with Sage Shadow (which I have never used at my own house) for a while now, but talked myself out of doing as I do not have the ink pad. But I am gonna try today to make this card. I think that whatever I do, this will turn out so elegant because of the color palette.
I will post my card later tonight. And hopefully, will be pleased enough with my card, that I will be brave enough to tackle another challenge. Fingers crossed.
I'm only working a half-day today as I have to wait for some contractors at home, so I plan on being pretty productive!!
Morning!
So last night was a productive night for me. In between bouts of cleaning the house, I did some work for the one-on-one workshop I have this weekend. Merci ha
s not made it to a class yet, so I was a little skeptical that she was going to come at all, and didn't prepare anything (no one else could make this on
e). But I spoke with her yesterday and she (possible with Jenn) is for sure coming. Okay, well that's easy, cut supplies for 2! LOL!

I also, got inspired and did some stamping last night and made a baby Shower Card for my gf Christine. I haven't seen her in ages and don't even know if I will be able to make it to the shower, as I am suppossed to have a couple people over to stamp. But I will head over to Sears tonight to get a little gift to go along with it. I will download the card later tonight when I put the rest of things online.
Now here was my one dilema in creating the card: Christine is by no means a girly girl. Infact, sometimes I worry that she would be offended by nmy having her name and those words in the same sentence. However, she is having a little girl, Adrianna. I wasn't sure what to do when I made the card... should I use pink, should I not??? But then I had a smart idea: Nursery Theme!!! I knew her theme for the nursery was a jungle theme. Plus, the stamp set that I had ordered to specifically make the card, had a hippo, a bunny, and a duck in it! But then I went on SCS and found a beautiful template for a two pocket card, which I had never made before, but it needed to be DSP - and then only one that I thought would work was greens and oranges. So I settled with a Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal color scheme, adding a Pretty in Pink bow on hippo!
Let me know what you think as this is my first ever pocket card! Inspired by this card: http://splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/915323?cat=10564
So we made this very cute Summer Scratch and Sniff card at the last Demo meeting. I was totally shocked when I saw this... I had never even thought to do something like this. It was Lori Waples' make and take and super easy:
Whisper White Cardstock as the base.
Then we used a piece of "Summer Picnic" Double-sided Designer Series Paper (only available until the end of June in the Occassions mini catalogue.)
A piece of grosgrain ribbon trim.
Punch out a scallop and then we stamped the little strawberry from the "Tart n' Tangy" set (also in the Occassions Mini Catalogue) using Craft Ink. Then using a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder, and Strawberry Crystal Lite over the Craft Ink, heated it up with the heat tool. And voila! attached it to the scallop circle and you're good to go!!
Afternoon,
At work (#1) right now, and happy to be able to sit still for a little while. Had a hugely exhausting weekend! Stayed up pretty late on Friday, as I started my prep work for my first ever OSW ( One Sheet Wonder Workshop). Then Saturday I worked at job #2, came home and worked again all night on my prep. Stayed up till 3:30AM!!!! Holy crap!
Realized that taking on something like this, was probably not so smart, considering it was only my 2nd worskhop ever. hee hee.... oh and add to that that I was expecting around 8 gals!
Well Sunday morning rolled around and we ended up having only 5 girls show up. A big thanks to: Suzy, Carol, Teresa, Sylvie and my mom. Merci - I am going to have to talk to you about getting confused and thinking it started at 4!!! ???
Anyhow, I think the workshop turned out pretty well. I did some nice summery cards!! Very bright and with Mother's Day being next weekend - made sure they were pretty feminine. ( I will remember to take pics and post them tonight) I was lucky to get a few new girls out - namely Sylvie and Teresa's 2nd workshop!!! So hopefullly we'll be seeing them more at some stamping events. I was looking to have another summer themed one near the end of the month, so we could do the fruit slice card I showcased yesterda, but looks like people are pretty busy so may need to re-schedule.
The main thing I love about this little fruit slice card, is that other than being SUPER CUTE - it literally took 2 minutes to make ( and I think it only took THAT long cause my stamp room was still not set-up and I had to scarmble thru some boxes.) I think I may go even further outta the box and up the cuteness by making it a scratch and sniff card like the one that we made at the Demonstrators get together last month.
